Description:
The sole activity of the farm is the planting, nurturing and harvesting, as well as wet washing milling of arabica coffee – caturra variety predominantly- in a plantation with an area of 131.5 acres of healthy young coffee plants. The oldest coffee tree was planted in 2005 and, consequently, is currently in tissue management (pruning) and the youngest plant was completed in 2012 and is on a development stage.
Plantations design allows an average density of 2,400 plants per acre. Some special varieties (Pacamara of the Maragogype type) have smaller populations per acre for technical reasons.
The entire plantation is technically handled according to criteria of cultivation and management of advanced coffee-producing countries.
Consequently, the farm is designed to produce annually 2,500 to 3,000 quintals (100 pound bags) when it reaches maturity. In fact, in its short life has come to reach levels of 22 quintals (100 pound bags) average productivity per acre .
